The story of Høkeren
In collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce, Kerteminde Museum, Kerteminde Municipal School and Kerteminde Municipality, the shop in Trollegade was fitted with original fixtures and fittings from some of the old shops that had been closed down in recent years.
The municipality provided the premises, while the Chamber of Commerce helped with administration and the procurement of goods. Pupils from the municipal school took care of the shop and the municipality funded the project. The pupils dubbed the shop ‘Høkeren’, the operation of which subsequently transferred to Kerteminde Museums.
In the early 20th century, there had actually been a pedlar’s shop in the building.
